Gibson Hummingbird M review

I’m on location at Guitarworks in Greenfield, IN reviewing the Gibson Hummingbird M. This guitar is part of their Modern series.

It is a good finger picking guitar with good separation. You really don’t need to be plugged in to get good sound. It has an overall good response, especially with a lighter touch.

It’s not just a good finger style guitar. It really comes alive with a pick.

The guitar has solid Sitka top, with Rosewood on the back and sides.

It uses Richlite for the fingerboard. The is quite nice because it sounds great, doesn’t wear out over time, and has no sharp edges. It’s impervious to weather and it doesn’t need oil to maintain it.

It has the longer scale length of 25 1/2. The longer scale length is more modern. It produces a brighter, more powerful sound with extra tension from having the stings stretched out a little farther.

It also has the LR Baggs VTC pickup with controls inside of the sound hole.
